Kirkcudbright : 13A High Street

Some years ago we spent a week in Kirkcudbright, fell in love with the area and purchased our very own “Galloway Getaway”.

Our cosy semi-detached self-catering accommodation is in a conservation area - the oldest part of town. It is situated down one of Kirkcudbright’s famous closes and is just yards from Broughton House, once home to the artist E A Hornell and now owned by The National Trust for Scotland.

It is in a quiet part of town, yet only minutes walk from Museums, art galleries, the Marina, working harbour, MacLellan’s Castle, fine shops, inns, restaurants, and the indoor swimming pool.

The entrance porch leads to a spacious, fully fitted dining kitchen with electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and all the cutlery, crockery, utensils and equipment you will need.

The lounge is spacious and comfortable with a three-piece suite and pine furniture. There is a TV with freeview channels and radio and a DVD player. A selection of books and games together with maps and information about the area is on hand.

The open staircase leads up to the spacious bedroom with pine king size bed and pine bedroom furniture. Leading off from the bedroom is the ensuite bathroom with wood floor, four piece suite, shaver socket and electric shower over the bath.

Outside the cottage is a secluded courtyard area with picnic table. Further down the close is an outhouse where bicycles can be stored – please ask for details.

There is ample free parking on the High Street – a quiet one-way street.
